SOCIAL PURPOSE

Caring for our people and those in the communities where we live, work and play has been part of our collective DNA since we launched our companies. Our Social Purpose is grassroots, driven by our own people who choose to support initiatives and causes that are meaningful to them. This support takes on many forms, from rolling up our sleeves to volunteer our time and expertise, to organizing donation drives, to participating in 5Ks to raise awareness and funds for important causes. A search of our hashtag, #FirstServeOthers, reveals the breadth and depth of our service to our community and to each other.

SUPPORTING: CARDS FOR HOSPITALIZED KIDS

LIVunLtd — The LIVunLtd team designed handmade greeting cards for summer fun! These cards bring smiles to the faces of hospitalized children.

SUPPORTING: Friends of Karen

LIVunLtd — During the 2018 Holiday season, LIVunLtd is proud to adopt and sponsor three families from Friends of Karen Adopt-A-Family Program, in participation with FirstService Residential New York.

SUPPORTING: National alliance on mental illness

LIVunLtd — LIVunLtd team members are joining the movement, walking in the NAMIWalks 5K to support mental health in May 2019.

SUPPORTING: COMFORT CASE

American Pool — American Pool Maryland is selling Guard for Life backpacks. For every bag purchased, a child/teen in foster care will receive their own Comfort Case to carry and keep their personal belongings. These bags provide stability to children that don’t have it. 

SUPPORTING: Women Giving Back

Heartline Fitness — In June 2018, Heartline Fitness joined Ray Tate of FirstService Residential Washington DC Metro in collecting donations for the Women Giving Back organization. Women Giving Back assists women and children in shelters and transitional programs get back on their feet. Many Heartliners donated dozens of bags of clothes for women and children. Heartline’s CEO, Bob Burgess spent the day at the distribution center sorting and displaying the items. Watch the video.

SUPPORTING: Childhood Obesity Awareness & Prevention

Heartline Fitness — In July 2018, Heartline donated fitness equipment to two public schools in Norfolk Country, Virgina in desperate need of both cardio and strength equipment. Norview High School received an Elliptical and a Bike; Lake Taylor High School received a Lat/low rower machine and a Leg extension/leg curl machine for its athletes.

SUPPORTING: Childhood Obesity Awareness & Prevention

Heartline Fitness — In July 2018, Heartline Fitness helped Ashley Kirby, a physics teacher and a coach of Lassiter’s Cross Country and Track teams, to create a space where she could provide both rehabilitation and injury prevention training for her high school runners. Heartline helped to create the Student Athlete Recovery & Rehab Center for Lassiter High School in Cobb County, Georgia, by conducting a safety check of current equipment, delivering and installing an elliptical, treadmill, and recumbent bike, and donating a FreeClimber, a Rowing Machine, a Peloton Bike and 3 strength pieces including a multi-station gym and some dumbbells, kettlebells and club mats.

SUPPORTING: Boys & Girls Club

American Pool — American Pool’s Corporate Safety Director, Sabraya Isaacs, and Recruiting Director for American Pool New York, Mike Donofrio, were “on deck” in December 2017 at the Lodi, New Jersey Boys & Girls Club for the first session of the Swim for Success program. Swim for Success is a water safety program developed by the American Pool family of companies to help reduce the risk of drowning among at-risk populations. Swim for Success is to help those in underserved communities by providing water safety instruction and educate children and families who may not otherwise have the opportunity.

SUPPORTING: HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF FUND

American Pool — American Pool started a GoFundMe donation page for the Greater Houston Community Foundation. This fund gave AP employees and those in the AP family a place to donate and support the Houston area.
